The new and first solo album by musician and actor Christoph Letkowski was released on May 23, 2025. "#seltensogelacht" is an intensely stirring work with which Letkowski draws us deep into the heart of a personal crisis - with devoted melodies and ludicrously good songwriting music without clichés. Letkowski has twelve songs about meeting and connecting, about losing and disappearing, songs about entering, leaving and emerging, about boundaries, spaces, feelings and skills. The result is an album about everything that is called "being human".
The story of "#seltensogelacht" cannot be told without telling the story of Christoph Letkowski. In this case, artist and work are one, inextricably linked. "#seltensogelacht" is an album that comes so directly and immediately from life, as is rarely the case with music. "#seltensogelacht" was written on the A24, between Lübeck and Berlin, sometimes Letkowski was stuck in a traffic jam, sometimes he was the traffic jam. The record begins with an atmospheric acoustic guitar intro and the lines "Do you know the pictures of the soldiers 'before'? Eyes proud, lit up in the glow of hope. And do you know the pictures of the soldiers 'after'? Eyes deep, frozen in the gray of shadows." Letkowski knows these images. From his head. And he has made music from them - more honestly than ever before. He is back, back from fear and he has rarely laughed so much.
Support: borlinghaus
Short version: "Better tears than a numb heart", sings borlinghaus on her current EP, hitting exactly the sore spot that defines her music: giving space to the heavy and painful feelings and being grateful to be able to feel them.the fear of becoming empty and cold inside seems greater to the musician than the darkness itself. That is why she courageously confronts this emotional world and creates an intimate safe space that is open to everyone. She combines gentle dark pop with German and profound lyrics with warm guitars, distorted drums and deep basses. With her calm voice, she balances between dreamy melodies and dark sound experiments.
