The Offenbach pianists' New Year's concert will kick off the new year 2025 on Sunday, January 26 at 5 p.m. under the fresh title "Frauenpower - Musik von und für Frauen" (Women's Power - Music by and for Women). As champagne-sparkling as ever - and for a second time in exile at EVO's Alte Schlosserei. On the one hand, there is music by more and less well-known, extremely listenable female composers such as Mel Bonis, Marianne Auenbrugger and Elisabeth von Herzogenberg, but also by siblings such as Fanny Hensel and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy or couples such as Clara and Robert Schumann. The somehow third Johannes Brahms is also musically represented. Plus masters as diverse as Beethoven and Gershwin.
Pianist Lydia Maria Bader and her pianist colleagues Ronald Fries, Werner Fürst and Frank Spannaus will once again be performing. On this afternoon, Ruth Zetzsche will be performing not only in her regular role as presenter of the format, but also in her full-time profession as an alto, and will sing Robert Schumann's cycle "Frauenliebe und -leben", accompanied by Werner Fürst on the piano.
For over 25 years, outstanding musicians from Offenbach have been welcoming in the New Year in this format with a selected and eventful repertoire in an always original and passionate piano afternoon on 88 keys.
Tickets at 17.50 euros including fees are available at www.frankfurtticket.de, at the OF InfoCenter and at all known advance booking offices.
