NICA live: Percussomnia feat. Gouffault, Philipp, Preisaitė, Wittbrodt

Percussomnia is an extensive electroacoustic exploration of abstract polyrhythms. The ensemble creates a seamless fusion of tonal and percussive sounds, in which the individual contributions come together to form an organic musical flow.

The project brings together musicians from Cologne and Copenhagen and operates at the intersection of improvised music, contemporary sound art, and electroacoustic exploration. Originally founded as a duo for prepared piano and drums, Percussomnia developed an intuitive rhythmic language that emerges from a multitude of percussive and polyphonic sound events. The ensemble has since expanded to a quartet: cello and electronics complement the original concept with dense textures, deep sub-bass frequencies, and interflowing drone soundscapes. Together, the ensemble creates multi-layered soundscapes in which rhythm, resonance, and timbre continuously form new connections and coalesce into a dynamic, collective sound architecture.
