Nino Wenger - First Light
A year in New York: loud, wild, intense - a rush between the pulsating hustle and bustle of the city, a feeling of home and ecstatic concert experiences until the early hours of the morning. Swiss saxophonist Nino Wenger has captured these impressions in ten compositions on "First Light". His music thrives on the tension between euphoria and vulnerability, between energy and tenderness, audible in every note. An album full of encounters, places and moments that have left their mark.
Together with Fabio Gouvêa on guitar, Tabea Kind on double bass and Paulo Almeida on drums, a band sound is formed that is deeply rooted in jazz and enriched with a rock attitude, improvisational joy and open antennae for the unexpected.
Four voices that create space for the moment, music that doesn't explain itself, but simply happens. Directly into the heart via the ears.
