NYC meets CGN again!

After a one-year hiatus, the next pizza pop-up by @michelmachtpizza& friends is back, bringing a slice of the New York City experience right here in Cologne with New York-style pizza slices.

The pop-up will take place on Saturday and Sunday, July 18 and 19, 2026, as part of the art(e)facts Festival at the Park Café (Rheinpark): A holistic cultural experience that combines art, music, and social initiatives, with “pizza culture” serving as a bridge between these different subcultures.

Michel describes it as follows: “For me, New York-style pizza represents the interconnection of different subcultures and interests in an exciting, new context. It’s about combining pizza with other genres and their artists, who share similar stories and core values yet are completely different:
From the artists and producers behind niche hip-hop and rap@beslikmeisterand carefully curated house sounds@ianpooley.ofc@katiacurie@mysteryaffair, to designers, visual artists, and filmmakers@heimkino.Cologne@flugmodus.tv, to the media creators who bring it all together in one context@slanted_publishers, to the people who draw inspiration from it and become part of it by participating. This interplay of “Culture” as an umbrella term creates an energy that you otherwise only experience when visiting a large, unfamiliar city full of new impressions—a city whose electrifying dynamism you’ve previously only heard about in stories.
Helping to create something like this is exciting, gives rise to the unexpected, and is a lot of fun. I want to see and experience more of this, so I’m creating my own contribution—that’s why I’m part of art(e)facts.”
