In the organizer's words:
The ODEON Youth Symphony Orchestra Munich, the Munich Philharmonic’s partner orchestra and the City of Munich’s youth orchestra, is hosting a visit from the Leipzig Youth Symphony Orchestra. Both ensembles perform at a high level—and are now presenting a joint concert for the first time.
The ODEON, conducted by Julio Doggenweiler Fernández, will open the evening with Brahms’s Haydn Variations. The guests from Leipzig, conducted by Leonard Halm, will perform Schumann’s Symphony No. 4 and Gounod’s ballet music from the opera “Faust.” And of course, a joint piece is a must!
