UNHEARD: Susi Lotter Quintett

Bassist Susi Lotter met the members of her quintet during her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. Playing together for many years and living together created a familiarity that can be heard in the music of this band. It moves naturally through the entire emotional spectrum in compositions that are as exciting as they are accessible. There are grooves bursting with joie de vivre and joy of playing, but also passages carried by touching melancholy.

Susi Lotter has been an indispensable member of the Munich jazz scene for a number of years and invigorates it with fresh impulses. Her work to date has already earned her the BMW Young Artist Jazz Award and various sponsorship awards from the Bavarian Jazz Association.

The Unheard series already celebrated successes at the Unterfahrt in 2019 and 2021 and is now being continued this year with eight concerts in Hall 4 of Einstein Kultur. Developed as a project with the JazzStiftung München and curated by Unterfahrt and mucjazz e.V., the program is dedicated to providing a forum for promising young musicians from various competitions (including the Munich Jazz Award) and giving them the attention they have long deserved.
