Offenes Casting: Sing our Songs!

Singing unites - whether at work, at demonstrations or on strike. For the joint project Sing Our Songs! of the Kunstmuseum Gelsenkirchen, the Musiktheater im Revier and the Catholic parish of Gelsenkirchen, we are looking for amateur singers in an open casting who would like to rehearse and perform together with the MiR opera choir. As part of the Manifesta 16 + program and in connection with the exhibition Radical Hope. Art and Labor Struggle at the Kunstmuseum Gelsenkirchen, workers' songs from all over the world will be rehearsed and presented to the public on two dates.

Open casting: June 15, 2026, 4-7 p.m., Kunstmuseum Gelsenkirchen (Horster Straße 5-7, 45897 Gelsenkirchen). A jury of experts will select the participants.

The rehearsal and performances will take place in the former church of St. Mariä Himmelfahrt in Gelsenkirchen Buer.

The jointly rehearsed songs will be presented to the public on July 4 and July 9, 2026 at 7 pm.
