The Olympic Games captivate the world every four years. For the athletes, they are the highest of emotions, for critics they are at least a questionable waste of resources. The fascination of the Olympics traces the impressive development of this major sporting event, which was last held on German soil in Munich in 1972. It tells the story of an eventful history in the splendor of Olympic medals and in the shadow of wars and political influence. We are thus caught between the poles of value and values, claims and realities. Contradictions that are increasingly affecting the Paralympics as well.

On the occasion of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, this tour focuses in particular on winter sports and our special exhibition "Higher, faster, colder! Olympic tracks in snow and ice" (duration: 22.01. - 22.02.2026).
