Discover Humboldt - an often overlooked district in the shadow of Cologne-Kalk. This guided tour shows how an agricultural area was transformed into a lively district in just a few decades.

The starting point is the industrialization around the Humboldt mechanical engineering plant (later part of Klöckner Humboldt Deutz): Instead of traditional day laborers, the company focused on training and contemporary housing for its workers. From 1873, the historic "Humboldt Colony" with its characteristic houses was built around Wattstraße, marking the beginning of the quarter's development.
