These handcrafted, tangible pieces possess, in and of themselves, a powerful material and sensory presence. At the same time, they still convey the drawing (or the sculpture) and its subject matter (landscape, figure, face, writing). They do not depict it directly, but merely hint at it—alongside their own, entirely different presence. Yet their preciousness, their meticulousness, their slowness, and their tactile sensuality always encompass the fleeting, the distant, the vaguely recognized, and the merely surmised.

The technique lends the works a special sense of temporality. What initially appears rough and unclear is the result of a long, concentrated process. Threads, beads, and textures form a sensual surface. Emotions, memories, and social issues—especially the exploration of homosexuality—resonate within them.
