OK KID live im Festsaal Kreuzberg 🖤
In the organizer's words:
OK KID are back! First they announced their new album “Komm, wir bleiben stehen” for late May, and now they’ve confirmed their long-awaited tour of the same name for the fall: On the “Komm, wir bleiben stehen” Tour 2026, the trio will visit six major cities in Germany and Austria.
The band’s signature blend of hybrid garage drums, shoegaze guitars, jungle influences, and intricate sample chops has been skillfully updated—something the OK KID crowd can look forward to. Live, OK KID is an undisputed force in the German-speaking music scene, and anticipation for the shows is already huge!
OK KID struck a chord with their 2013 debut album; their intelligent indie sound, featuring rapped social commentary, was quickly recognized as exceptionally relevant pop culture. After three top-ten albums and ten years of “full-throttle” band life, as the trio puts it, Jonas Schubert, Raffael Kühle, and Moritz Rech will be taking a necessary hiatus for an indefinite period starting in spring 2024: no social media, no concerts, no releases. And this at a time when feeding the algorithm and garnering attention seem to be the most important currencies—a daring undertaking from the perspective of that era.
From today’s perspective: a blessing for the album, which was created during their hiatus. “Komm, wir bleiben stehen” is the title of OK KID’s fifth studio album, set for release in late May 2026, and it stands out from their previous work—as the track “Hoffnung stirbt 1–3” makes clear: OK KID strike at the very heart of the NOW. The band is also showing signs of life on stage: a guerrilla gig in February in their hometown of Gießen, where they dropped the news about the new album, gave the community confirmation: OK KID are back.
“Komm, wir bleiben stehen” shows what can happen when musicians absorb political, social, and personal turmoil and channel it into musically artful statements. OK KID pulls this off authentically—taking a stand has always been important to their music. Yet rarely have they sounded so honest, unfiltered, angry, and hurt. This becomes particularly clear in the intense ode to outsider culture and rebellion, “Rave On”: “As long as we still have each other, the others haven’t won,” Jonas Schubert almost shouts into the microphone, making it unmistakably clear: If there’s any hope left these days, it lies in community—it’s worth standing up for your ideals and values.
The band’s goal is to not let themselves be swept away by the toxic maelstrom of the present. The album is a search for security in a dystopian environment, reflected in spoken-word contributions by Luisa Neubauer in the “Rave On” intro and Max Richard Leßmann in “Hoffnung stirbt 1.” “Komm, wir bleiben stehen” doesn’t claim to be the most important political pop album of recent years; rather, it’s a counterpoint to easily digestible pop tidbits: chanson-esque skits, off-the-cuff musings, and festival-ready bangers in the signature OK KID sound: The band’s signature blend of garage drums, shoegaze guitars, jungle influences, sample chops, and reimagined 808s has matured into a unique selling point by 2026.
Above all, though, the album is meant to be experienced live. How great that the trio is finally returning to the stage—tickets for the OK KID “Komm, wir bleiben stehen” 2026 tour are available everywhere!
