HOLLY HUMBERSTONE - Cruel World European Tour
In the organizer's words:
Holly Humberstone’s long-awaited follow-up to her debut album, “Cruel World,” will be released on April 10 via Universal Music. The 26-year-old British artist, who has been known worldwide—at least since her first EP “Falling Asleep at the Wheel,” captivates listeners once again on her second album with timeless alternative pop that sensitively explores and seamlessly blends the contradictions of pain and pleasure in love. According to Humberstone, the album explores the state of being in love as something both beautiful and deeply painful; it is grounding and destabilizing at the same time. Fittingly, she released a music video for the hit single “To Love Somebody,” which, in collaboration with director Silken Weinberg (known for her work with Ethel Cain), portrays this romantic dilemma through a fairy-tale-like interpretation inspired by the Brothers Grimm and *Nosferatu*. The Gothic house where Humberstone grew up as one of four sisters also served as the setting for this. Her second album, filled with romantic, platonic, and feminine love, follows 2023’s “Paint My Bedroom Black,” her debut LP, which was created on tour in hotel rooms while she was pursuing what she had dreamed of since she was a little girl: becoming a professional, successful singer. She was first nominated for an Ivor Novello Award in 2022 and then, as the crowning achievement of her hard work, won the 2022 BRIT Rising Star Award, at the ceremony for which she performed “London Is Lonely” live in front of an audience of millions as part of the BRIT Awards. The singles from her upcoming album “Cruel World” also promise great things, especially the single “To Love Somebody.” This track has already brought Humberstone into the spotlight on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon* and, here in Germany, onto the airwaves of stations such as NRJ, YouFM, 1Live, Radio FFH, Bayern 3, as well as FluxFM and egoFM. Her live success story is also impressive: At Wembley Stadium, packed with nearly 100,000 people, Holly Humberstone played a London support show for none other than the biggest pop star of our time, Taylor Swift. She went on extensive tours with acts like Olivia Rodrigo, Girl in Red, and Sam Fender. She now regularly sells out major concert venues in the United Kingdom on her own. This year, Holly Humberstone will also perform her soulful pop ballads at festivals such as Golden Leaves in Darmstadt and Coachella in California. As she continues her quest to win over our hearts across Central Europe, Holly Humberstone will also be stopping in Germany for four concerts. The English singer will even be coming to Berlin for a live performance.
