Oldtimertreffen am Schauplatz Eisenbahn
In the organizer's words:
On October 3, the 1st Chemnitz Classic Car Club will stop at the Schauplatz Eisenbahn during its outing.
In addition to the program at the Schauplatz Eisenbahn for German Unity Day, visitors will have the opportunity in the morning to experience gleaming chrome, historic vehicles, and plenty of nostalgia. The lovingly maintained classic cars tell their very own stories and bring memories of past decades to life.
On the grounds of the Schauplatz, two important chapters of technological history come together: historic automobiles and fascinating railway technology. An experience for the whole family!
Classic car racing in what was then Karl-Marx-Stadt had its roots in the founding of the “Modul” motorsports club at the VEB Zahnschneidefabrik “Modul” in 1964. The club was typically affiliated with the ADMV of the GDR. After initially focusing on tourism, a motorcycle division was soon established. Here, younger sports enthusiasts in particular found a home for their interests.
(The classic car club’s stop is a scheduled event and part of the regular museum visit (included with admission); it is not a separate event.)
