Intelligent machines, empathetic algorithms, brain implants, and augmented realities: The boundaries between humans and technology seem to be blurring more and more. How will our understanding of what it means to be human change? Some see rapid technological development as the dawn of a golden age, while others fear the risks. So where should we exercise caution, and where is optimism warranted? Futurium explores all of this in “On/Off Relationship”—the new thematic focus on the relationship between humans and technology.

Whether during the opening weekend, at the exhibition, or during the series of events starting this fall: Together with voices from academia, politics, and civil society, we’ll discuss with you the future of the relationship between humans and machines.
