As part of the "Dacheröden on Tour" series, Kultur: Haus Dacheröden regularly invites people to talk about their very different journeys and experiences abroad. Be it daring adventures, profound encounters or inspiring experiences - the talks bring the world to Erfurt and awaken the desire to discover.

2.5 years, 43,000 kilometers, 972 breakdowns - these are the key data of an extraordinary travel project. "972 Breakdowns" tells the story of a unique expedition: wild, rough, improvised - and above all deeply human. Five young artists set off on four old Ural motorcycles with sidecars from Halle (Saale) to New York - across Siberia, Mongolia, Central Asia and North America.

The focus of this journey was not only on moving through extreme landscapes, but also on daily improvisation in unpredictable situations, life in a collective and intensive intercultural encounters along the route.

Following the film screening of "972 Breakdowns" as part of the "Kino im Salon" series at Kultur: Haus Dacheröden, the project is now returning to Erfurt in the form of a lecture. Two members of the artists' collective leavinghomefunktion will report on the challenges, experiences and insights of this unusual expedition with photos, videos and personal impressions.
