Operation Namibia (Special Screening)

Golden Harvest is the name of the old sailing boat in which a group from the left-wing peace movement set sail in 1976 to start a revolution: Their destination was Namibia. On board: thousands of books that had been banned by the apartheid government. What began as a utopia ends in a tragic odyssey and human discord. Based on telegram correspondence, diary entries and photographs, director Martin Paret tells the story of an activist group guided by an inner mission. The unforeseen is disregarded. The five-month journey ends in a year-long odyssey.
The Dokomotive platform is showing the award-winning documentary OPERATION NAMIBIA in the Mülheim harbor area on 29.04.2026.

Meeting point: Auenweg 173, 51063 Cologne, at the entrance gate to the Mülheim harbor site. The group will then walk together from there to the location of the film screening.
