Orgelkonzert mit Sietze de Vries aus Groningen/Niederlande
In the organizer's words:
An inspiring evening of music awaits you at the Dresden Organ Series on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. at the Kreuzkirche in Dresden. Under the theme “A Guest from Friesland,” Dutch organist Sietze de Vries will present a diverse program that combines historical masterpieces with the fine art of free improvisation.
The program includes, among other works, Johann Sebastian Bach’s Fantasia and Fugue in C Major, BWV 573, movements from Cantata BWV 99, and Josef Rheinberger’s moving Organ Sonata in A minor. These pieces will be complemented by original improvisations by the renowned guest from Groningen, who serves as a professor and organist at the historic St. Martin’s Church.
The evening begins at 7:19 p.m. with the popular “Unter der Stehlampe” series. Over a glass of “organ wine,” Sietze de Vries will offer intimate insights into the works and his work during a personal conversation. We look forward to seeing you at the Kreuzkirche!
