ORLAC`S Hände InterZone Perceptible

InterZone Perceptible will be at the Stapeltor for the second time on 28.03.2025 at 20:00, this time with the film ORLAC'S HANDS, the transplant horror masterpiece by Robert Wiene from 1924 and the music PREFARKT. A surgeon dares to transplant two hands. The patient is the seriously injured pianist Orlac. The operation should actually mean hope for him. But his new hands are those of an executed murderer.

Orlac's state of being crushed, which intensifies over the course of the entire film, and his organism, which is increasingly on the verge of a heart attack, form the emotional fabric of the film music by the industrial sound art specialists for electrified accordion, electric bass, live electronics, playback, acoustic metal chimes and keyboards. The idea of a surgeon working on a defective body influenced the compositional decisions.
