Brothers, completely the same and completely different at the same time. Kissing and wrestling - the usual. Growing up in the mixed forest of an East Westphalian province. At some point in the Golf 4 (windshield down - basses up) they plunged unchecked into the urban parallel world. If you think of it as music, then that's about OTTOLIEN.

The brothers have been making music together all their lives. Guitar lessons, children's choir, school band, street music, the whole nine yards. Eventually, however, it's not just their individual musical preferences that drift apart. Leonard, the singer-songwriter with a penchant for delicate acoustic guitars, versus Jonas, the rapper, beat maker and all-night sound tinkerer.

In 2018, the two decide that two musical preferences, two singers and two frontmen are not a contradiction, but an energetic basis for merging. OTTOLIEN - henceforth a band, not just a surname.

The brothers go DIY. From fine artwork to focused music production, sensitive lighting and live technology to visually stunning music videos. OTTOLIEN gathers a friendly, creative team around them that quickly proves its worth: Skill, fun, dynamism, honesty and a constant examination of themselves and their own horizons can be heard and felt.

Checked-out electronic sounds, hand-clapped beats with a touch of the 80s form the forward-driving flying carpet. Between concrete, catchy hooks and abstract images, the early 20-year-olds also create a hybrid mixture in their German lyrics. Those who follow them will find insights into OTTOLIEN's inner life in their inspired, abstract lyrics, but also plenty of space for their own mind games. All this from two unpretentious people who you can grant anything and believe anything.

OTTOLIEN have made a good start with their latest releases, are now jetting through the German-speaking indie orbit and have already been mentioned in DIFFUS magazine and echoed in various media.
