Outdoor Opening: Yarákä + Pnema

Outside again at last!

Our outdoor season starts again on May 29. Throughout the summer, we will experience great concerts with you at Spiegelplatz, celebrate the hot months and enjoy being together. We are looking forward to a great opening with Yarákä and Pnema!

Yarákä (Taranto, Italy)

Founded in 2015, the Yarákä project has always been keen to emphasize and celebrate their multi-ethnic component. In particular, the common rhythmic matrix from Africa acts as a catalyst for experimentation, where sounds and influences from the Mediterranean and Southern Italy meet. The ensemble, consisting of three musicians from Taranto, Gianni Sciambaruto, Virginia Pavone and Simone Carrino, seeks to express personal identities and rediscover traditions, while maintaining an openness to modernity and cross-cultural fusion.

Pnema (Greece, Muc)

The love for the melodies of Manos Hadjidakis brought the musicians of Pnema together in Munich in the summer of 2018. Musicians with different roots (from Greece, Turkey and Germany) but with one thing in common: a love of music, crazy rhythms and making music together. Their repertoire includes old and new songs from Asia Minor and Greece, melodies that linger in your head for days, and danceable repertoire from the psychedelic south.
