What did the palace look like? What color was the furniture? Wasn't the glass flower there? What hung on the walls and weren't there signs of the regime test on and in the palace?
With their installation "Palace of Remembrance", the CyberRäuber use virtual reality to make the impossible possible. The Palace of the Republic, which has completely disappeared structurally, can be entered digitally. In a two-year project, anecdotes, impressions and objects are being collected and incorporated into the VR installation, turning it into a virtual work of art.
Immerse yourself in the palace, create your own (new) image or bring back memories!
The virtual palace model will open its doors to you on 15 and 16 June 2024 as part of the "Palace without end" theme weekend.
Marcel Karnapke and Björn Lengers have been working together as CyberRäuber on art in digital space since 2016. With a "probably unique mixture of affinity for technology, pioneering spirit, pragmatism and love of theater" (Theater der Zeit), they create productions and projects that are driven by a great curiosity about the creative possibilities of technology and are shown in galleries, city theaters and at international festivals.
