The Italian Cultural Institute Cologne participates in the 34th edition of Passagen Interior Design Week, which takes place from January 14-18, 2024, and presents OTO CHAIR - an example of reusable design. The exhibition, curated by Federica Sala, is dedicated to the One To One seating initiative by Alessandro Stabile and Martinelli Venezia.
The OTO Chair is a chair inspired by the circular economy that combines a complete approach with a sustainable supply chain. It is an icon of industrial design with essential shapes, made from a single print and recycled plastic. OTO Chair is an aesthetically relevant chair, a new chapter in the Made in Italy landscape.
Presented at the last Milano Design Week, the chair was included in the Adi Design Index 2023 and is shortlisted for the Compasso d'Oro 2024.
MARTINELLI VENEZIA is a design studio based in Milan and Palermo, which was founded in 2015 as a collaboration between the two architects Carolina Martinelli and Vittorio Venezia. The studio focuses on product design, exhibition design, architecture and interiors, exploring themes such as the relationship between tradition and local knowledge, the properties of materials and the technical possibilities of production. Their projects have been exhibited in galleries and museums such as the Louvre in Paris, the MAXXI in Rome and the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.
Alessandro Stabile (Milan, 1985) founded his studio in 2011 and works in industrial design and art direction. In 2013 he was nominated by the Italian Cultural Institute in New York as one of the ten "Top Young Italian Industrial Designers". He is currently the creative director of four companies and designs for brands such as Magis, Moleskine, Alessi and De'Longhi with the aim of creating products characterized by innovation, ethics and elegance.
