Philippa Kinsky

With a distinctive voice, profound lyrics, and warm indie sounds, Philippa Kinsky is one of the most exciting German newcomers on the English-language indie pop scene. The German-Austrian artist combines honest, introspective lyrics with organic arrangements, creating music that is accessible, timeless, and emotionally moving.

In 2022, she released her first original songs on her debut EP, “born in the teens.” Her sound ranges from DIY charm to modern indie productions, inspired by sad indie-pop artists like Clairo, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lizzy McAlpine. In 2023, Philippa showcased increasingly diverse facets of her songwriting talent with singles such as the pop-punk track “prove you wrong” and the feature “self-esteem.” She also frequently collaborates with other artists and projects—including working with established songwriters such as Michael Patrick Kelly and Daniel Bryer (One Direction, Niall Horan, Rag’n’Bone Man). In 2024, she revealed a new musical depth with the EP “smalltown stories”: melancholic, dreamy, yet with a distinct signature style, while she continued to win over more and more audiences with her live performances. After supporting numerous acts last year in addition to her own shows—including LEA, Chris James, and her international indie idols Tommy Lefroy—she took the stage as the opening act for Carter Vail in 2025.

Now she’s turning the page to the next chapter: In early April, Philippa Kinsky finally released her debut album “SOMEBODY WHO LOVES.” The lead single of the same name captures the essence of the album and marks a milestone in many ways. Musically, it ventures into a new soundscape, featuring ’80s synths, anthemic choruses, and melodies that stick in your memory. It’s about healing, overcoming pain, and the importance of not passing on one’s wounds but instead choosing to forgive.

Philippa Kinsky’s music tells of honest human experiences, the search for truth, and what it truly means to be human—no matter who you are or where you come from—as well as the depth of interpersonal relationships and the hope for goodness. In December, she’ll be coming to Munich, Cologne, Hamburg, and Berlin with her album “SOMEBODY WHO LOVES.”
