Anne-Sophie Mutter, violin
Anne-Sophie Mutter and the WDK have enjoyed a long and close artistic friendship. In the mid-1970s, it was WDK owner Witiko Adler who introduced the then 13-year-old musician to Herbert von Karajan - an encounter that set the course for her future career. After the opening of the Cologne Philharmonie, Anne-Sophie Mutter performed in the first WDK concert in the new venue - on September 23, 1986. Since then, the star violinist has regularly thrilled WDK audiences with her brilliant playing and outstanding interpretations. And so we are particularly pleased to be able to celebrate the start of this year's anniversary season together with Anne-Sophie Mutter. Experience an unforgettable evening with her, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Mendelssohn's enchanting violin concerto!
