Platzhirsch präsentiert: 40 Jahre Flowerpornoes

40 years of Flowerpornoes at the Stapeltor!

The Flowerpornoes, founded in Duisburg in 1986, are nothing less than a German indie rock institution. Although the band broke up and reunited several times, their initially English-language style, mixed with folk and psychedelia, was influential on the alternative music scene.

In 2007, the band members decided to play together again, only to take another long break. At the end of 2012, the Flowerpornoes reappeared with "Ich liebe Menschen wie ihr" - their ability to universally present observations about life as it is lived without rambling on about feelings or exaggeratedly introspective inwardness is still just as present as their talent for realizing these musically in an adequate way, without bombast or sentimentalism. A comeback that was necessary.

So now it's 40 years since their first appearance in Duisburg, of course, and we'll be celebrating in style at the Stapeltor on May 30th!
