Playgrounds - Julie Feltens Solo Austellung
In the organizer's words:
PLAYGROUNDS
In *Playgrounds*, Julie explores her childhood and her memories of growing up in a small village in Luxembourg in the 2000s. The exhibition brings together various aspects of this period and focuses on the memories, images, and feelings associated with growing up during that time.
The exhibition takes as its starting point fragments of a childhood that straddled the worlds of analog and digital experiences. Iconic objects such as Game Boys, My Little Ponies, and other relics of the 2000s stand alongside memories of long days spent outdoors—in meadows, forests, and dirt roads that became the settings for her own stories. Nature appears as a space full of possibilities, where the everyday could be transformed through fantasy and imagination.
*Playgrounds* is a deeply personal project in which Julie engages intensively with her own past. Rather than documenting the past in a documentary style, she approaches her memories through moods, fragments, and emotional traces. The works capture a feeling that many associate with their childhood: the memory of a time when everything seemed bigger, more colorful, and more exciting.

About the Artist
Julie Felten, born in Luxembourg in 2001, lives and works in Berlin, where she completed her bachelor’s degree in illustration in 2024. Since then, she has been working as a freelance illustrator and as a creative assistant at Cuong’s Creative Market.
Her artistic practice stems from personal feelings, dreams, and the unconscious, which are inspired by everyday impressions. She processes these not as direct representations, but as emotional translations. This results in works that make experiences and moods visible without defining them.
Her images often emerge intuitively and develop through associations rather than fixed concepts. In her work, she places particular emphasis on texture, color, and spatial depth. Her style is characterized by rich detail, strong contrasts, and a playful approach to material, form, and meaning. At the heart of her work is always atmosphere.
