pogendroblem // Cologne
The Great Resignation! How do we navigate the “Era of Monsters” (Antonio Gramsci), asks pogendroblem. How do we keep fighting against the rise of fascism and the climate crisis? One thing is clear: things can’t go on like this forever.
pogendroblem are obviously (post-)punk, poppy cuteness, garage vibes, a bit of the Hamburg School, a bit of Krautrock, slightly darker guitars, and, of course, bread slicer sounds blasted through FX. Lyrically, they deal with absurd everyday stories and a sense of subjectivity that no longer seems to function. They explore the fragmentation of society, labor relations, and the Left.
Whether it’s AZ, an awards ceremony, a club gig, or a summer festival: pogendroblem are the live band you’ve always needed.
0iro // Düsseldorf
… some claim these are insanely bad times. But there are also those who say it’s actually always been this shitty. Others, on the other hand, don’t see it all that critically: “People have always died.” “I want my flat white now.” “Anyone up for a bike ride?” What could this mean for all of us and the band Oiro? That the sky is guaranteed to be a light gray over the streets of Düsseldorf-Flingern in the morning? That gas still burns properly when you light it on fire? That every day on the way to work, fascists sit next to you incognito on the 709? Does it even matter, since everything seems to be a state of motionless stagnation anyway? Can we buy our way to happiness without even realizing it? Can we stroll past the instant soup without batting an eye? Can we resist the gates opening everywhere? Some people are also scared that everything will now be dictated to them. That really hits home. I can practically see Honecker and Stalin strolling through the Hofgarten; you hear someone yelling in the background, and right after that, gunshots… Socialism, you know, normal. Morale is kind of at rock bottom—a puddle of Alt, Kölsch, dust, feces, and a few of those nuclear things, you know, radioactive. Better to always rinse off your shoes after a walk with Cora, the German shepherd, and her surprisingly spacious digestive system. Ugh. In the end, nothing helps: you’ve got to make music. Set the tone with a cello and pan flute. Write lyrics. Party, dance, groove—whatever… we took Roland, the gray, anti-fascist drum bot, with us to Duisburg and Düsseldorf-Wersten, let him play, layered our stuff over it, and recorded *Zweite Kasse Bitte*, a tribute to the cryptically great shopping scene in Düsseldorf-Wersten, an ode to high culture reduced to rubble and ashes, our swan song to all luxury lovers. In the process, we realized: We only truly love a select few; the rest can kiss Roland’s digital ass. But we did find two special loves who helped us bundle our jumbled thoughts and sounds and transform them into eleven fluffy-punk tracks within four days in the cold January of 2026: Peta Devlin (production, bands: Oma Hans, Die Braut haut ins Auge) from Hamburg/UK and Volker Albrecht (engineering, Tumult Studios, bands: Die Schwarzen Schafe, The Vageenas) from Dresden/Wersten. For others, this would be work; for us, it’s a vacation with cold Hansa and Michelada … Dance-fun-punk, old Neue Deutsche Welle, Gaga-Wave, synth-noise… basically everything that’s fun, packed into 30 minutes. So let’s dance, and remember: Don’t drive yourselves crazy—it’s not your fault all this mess is happening. We love you, your Oiros
