Every good improv scene lives from its characters - the people who fill it with life. But how do you create exciting, unique characters? In PolkaFIGUREN you will learn how to develop strong, believable and versatile characters.

Whether it's quirky characters, deep personalities or completely over the top characters - we experiment with body, voice, emotions and status to create a wide repertoire of characters. We will explore how these characters can react to each other, develop and carry a scene.

Workshop content: 🎭 Basics of character development - from the idea to the living role. 🌀 Body & movement - How posture and gait affect a character. 🎙 Voice & language - variations in pitch, dialect and speaking style. 🎭 Status & emotions - making the character's inner world visible. 🔄 Relating characters - playing out dynamics between characters. 🎬 Characters in long format & in short scenes - keeping characters alive over several scenes.

Aims of the workshop: ✅ Develop a broad repertoire of characters - gain versatility on stage. ✅ More depth and credibility in the play - improvising authentic characters. ✅ Courage to change - step out of your comfort zone physically and vocally. ✅ Enriching scenes with strong characters - purposefully incorporating characters into stories.
