As part of the closing event for the exhibition“Hot Off the Press from the 1920s: Insights into China’s Modernity”and the 40th anniversary of the Hamburg–Shanghai city partnership, the MARKK is presenting a special pop-up teahouse: In this temporary, creatively interpreted teahouse, storytelling salons, printing, and writing workshops come together to form a participatory, intergenerational format. Visitors can share personal experiences regarding migration, identity, and culture, design and print mini-zines, listen to stories, browse literature on the diaspora in reading corners, or simply gather over tea. The project accompanies the exhibition’s closing weekend and translates historical printmaking into contemporary practice.

Funded by the Department of Culture and Media of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
