"Postcards from Italy" is a live audiovisual project commissioned by the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam and is an immersive journey through early 20th century Italy. The project combines rare archive footage from the Eye Filmmuseum's collection with modern live music, field recordings and soundscapes

Concept: The Bottasso brothers traveled through Italy by train in 2023 to visit the locations of silent films and record contemporary sounds. These modern field recordings, combined with traditional folk music and electronics, accompany the historical images.
