Audiowalk by Julia-Huda Nahas
Neuss. Bus stop. Neustraße. It's been 20 years since Dalia was last here. Even longer since she was on stage at the theater with the youth club. Today, Dalia is looking forward to an evening with her friend Melina: a glass of wine in the foyer, chatting about the past and the excitement until the performance begins. But Melina's train is late. The tickets have to be collected and Dalia is told to go ahead. Wait: go ahead? Alone? There it is again. That bad feeling in the pit of your stomach at the thought of going to the theater alone. Nah, better wait then. But hanging around at the bus stop for a whole hour is no solution either. Maybe nostalgia on Neustraße first. Well, "new" - not really. And yet very different here. Because everything is different today.
For us. For you.
Only.
Not.
For Dalia.
P.O.V. is the new immersive audio walk format of the Rheinisches Theater in collaboration with director and author Julia-Huda Nahas.
A theater performance that starts at a bus stop? That's exactly the plan: you are welcomed, given headphones and a brief introduction - and then off you go. Past stores and restaurants, familiar turns and unexpected moments. By the time you arrive at the theater, a new world of experience opens up: from the point of view of a person who sees differently, thinks differently, feels differently. A shared journey, accompanied by personal, sometimes intimate insights. A journey that begins the same for everyone - and yet is unique for everyone. Starting at the Neustraße bus stop, the journey into the Rhineland becomes a change of perspective, a new "P.O.V." - and thus an invitation: to more empathy and attention for our fellow human beings.
