Power Tango Trio. A string trio
THE TRIO REMEMBERS THE ARGENTINIAN ROUGHNESS OF THE BACKGROUNDS, CONCERTS IN DARK CELLARS... IT IS A TANGO THAT IS TANGO, WITH VIRTUOSO STRINGS, WITH JOY, WILD.
The atmosphere of the cities vibrates in its pieces. This group is the image of Buenos Aires yesterday and today: it rings, it sparkles and it raps, with a lot of poetry.
The Power Tango Trio is the result of the meeting of two Argentinian guitarists, one of whom lives in Paris, the other in Buenos Aires, and a French double bass player who lives in Marseille. The combination of two guitars with a double bass is a completely new training opportunity in tango that the trio would like to explore.
Through the resonance of its 16 strings, the accentuation of the melody, a playing that is both raw and deep, in a "neighborly" and authentic style, the trio seeks to create a link with the origins and spirit of tango, to immerse itself in the beats of the barrios of Buenos Aires.
He chooses to play traditional tangos reminiscent of the popular notes of neighborhood tango while bringing novelty to the style with a contemporary look. We find a strong influence of gypsy jazz, a way of attacking melodies on the guitar in a very swinging rhythm driven by Javier Diaz Gonzalez.
Many of the tracks on the album are tangos that we only know from the great tango orchestras such as D'Arienzo, Di Sarli, Pugliese and Troilo. Here the bet is made to provide the necessary energy and rhythm for the milonga through a string trio. With its wild "Loca" or its romantic "Bahia Blanca", the album will enliven the milongas with joy and simplicity.
At the origin of the tango were the strings, above all the guitar, an instrument that carries three aspects of music: Melody, rhythm, harmony. The trio combines the sound and rhythmic density of the double bass with the guitars.
