Winners' Concert of the International Aeolus Wind Instrument Competition at the Tonhalle
The International Aeolus Wind Instrument Competition is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year! Since 2006, the competition has been a major international platform for young wind soloists. 206 up-and-coming musicians from 36 countries are coming to Düsseldorf to compete in the trombone, trumpet, and tuba categories.
Past winners now perform in top orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, and the English National Opera Orchestra.
The prize winners’ concert will take place with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra. The program features Oskar Böhme’s Concerto in F minor for Trumpet and Orchestra, Ferdinand David’s Trombone Concerto, and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Tuba Concerto. Kyrian Friedenberg will conduct.
