ProVokal - song recitals and recitals at the Kulturhaus Milbertshofen

With ProVokal, the Kulturhaus Milbertshofen offers a very special concert series dedicated exclusively to singing. From March to December, recitals are held with top-class programs and concepts, performed by professional musicians from the greater Munich area. The repertoire of the concerts is wide-ranging. Musically, it ranges from romantic art songs to Broadway songs and musicals, and geographically from Northern and Central Europe to Latin America.

The classical lieder recital emerged in the 19th century and is still very popular today. It is a concert form that concentrates on the essentials, in which only one singer performs with an accompanying instrument, usually the piano. The attraction of this format is the close proximity between the artists and the audience, who virtually get up close and personal during the course of the evening. Without a show or technical aids, the performers enter into a dialog with the audience and take them into their musical world. High art instead of bombast and bluster.

A multifaceted song recital on the Yiddish language and culture.

The varied program leads to the traces of people and places, interweaving poets, composers and backgrounds. The musicians span an arc from melodies of sad beauty and poetry to rousing, unknown theater songs from Second Avenue in New York. The threads between Vilnus, Krakow, New York, Landsberg and St. Ottilien, between East Central Europe and America, promise an interesting and moving evening. Wolfgang Kraemer will present excerpts from Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, which was performed in DP Camp Landsberg in 1948.

The singer Felicitas Niegisch moves and touches the listener with her vocal charisma, is deeply emotional and at the same time exuberantly exuberant in her movements. The audience is addressed in a contemporary guise and arrangement. Without sentimentality and full of content, the musicians succeed in creating an extraordinary and stylish interpretation.

The CD FRILING was released in 2012 and was reviewed by the music magazine Folker.
