ProVokal - song recitals and recitals at the Kulturhaus Milbertshofen

With ProVokal, Kulturhaus Milbertshofen is offering a very special concert series this year, dedicated exclusively to singing. From May to December, 11 recitals with top-class programs and concepts will take place, performed by professional musicians from the greater Munich area.

The repertoire of the concerts is wide-ranging. Musically, it ranges from romantic art songs to Broadway songs and musicals, and geographically from Northern and Central Europe to Latin America.

The classical song recital emerged in the 19th century and is still very popular today. It is a concert form that concentrates on the essentials, in which only one singer performs with an accompanying instrument, usually the piano. The attraction of this format is the close proximity between the artists and the audience, who virtually get up close and personal during the course of the evening. Without a show or technical aids, the performers enter into a dialog with the audience and take them into their musical world. High art instead of bombast and bluster.
