Queerer Gottestdienst - Queer Joy
In the organizer's words:
🌈 Queer Worship Service – July 26 in Cologne
In this service, we celebrate Queerjoy.
Queerjoy means feeling, celebrating, and enjoying your own queer life. It means loving freely, holding hands, being in love and carefree, dancing at queer parties, and being yourself.
Queer joy means hearing your own name. Being addressed with the right pronouns. Feeling comfortable in your own body. Being yourself. Not having to explain yourself. Taking up space.
Finding queer friends and experiencing solidarity. Discovering queer shows and role models.
Queer Joy is loud. It’s beautiful. It’s feisty. And it’s bittersweet, too. It’s the counterbalance to all those who constantly spew hate against love, freedom, and solidarity. Queer Joy reminds us of what we’re fighting for.
The service will be led by Vicar Lisa Kluge from Cologne-Klettenberg.
We’ll be accompanied musically by singer-songwriter Hannah-Marie and the wonderful church choir of the Queer Church. You can look forward to queer love songs, songs of blessing, and much more.
We’re looking forward to a service full of Queerjoy—fierce and tender, loud and wild. Come join us, celebrate with us, and let’s recharge together.
