The exhibition can be viewed Monday to Friday during the opening hours of the Orangery Theater from 11 am to 5 pm as well as one hour before, during and one hour after the evening events.

The midi opening will take place on 8 March 2026 and offers the opportunity to get to know the artists, have a chat over a drink and enjoy a small accompanying program.

Have we forgotten how to ask questions?
Getting to the bottom of things and leaving the famous comfort zone - this is the common thread that runs through the Questioning exhibition and connects the two artists alongside their friendship.

Annika Fernández Gonzalo deals with surrealist forms of expression and hermetic themes such as existence, change and identity. She is particularly interested in the "human condition" in its special position - the peculiar human view of the world and the myths inscribed in it. This gives rise to a fundamental anthropological question: how possible or impossible is human existence in the field of tension between wonder and doubt? These diffuse, often difficult to grasp feelings are expressed not only in her paintings, but also in lyrical texts, which can be experienced as an integral part of the exhibition.

Doris Beißel also dares to think outside the box. In the face of global crises and personal challenges, dissatisfaction often prevails. However, her work focuses on the positive: on the small, meaningful moments that she has encountered along the way. Her pictures show snapshots from all over the world - a mosaic of the diversity of human existence. The painted layers come together to form an overall picture that deliberately remains incomplete. As in life itself, our brain fills in the missing pieces - a process that encourages us to take a closer look. A closer look reveals previously unseen details, deeper meanings and memories.

There is no doubt about it - this exhibition combines philosophy, art and poetry in a multi-layered way. A cultural experience not to be missed.
