Quispel Quintet

The Viennese clarinettist and saxophonist Leonhard Skorupa has launched the Quispel Quintet, an international, top-class ensemble. Together with stylist Michael Moore from California, he forms the wind section, Robert Landfermann and Asja Valcic complement the distinctive string section, while drummer Michael Vatcher lends stability and rhythm to the foray between cool jazz à la Stan Getz and lively, contemporary chamber jazz. Together they tread surprising paths and discover fascinating sounds, sometimes groovy and subtle, sometimes notturno-like and beautiful.

Multiphonics Improvisers Orchestra

Saxophonist and composer Norbert Stein creates a unique palette of musical expression with his pata music. Following the pataphysics of the writer Alfred Jary, he leads his project consistently into the realm of free music, which is like a river in motion, steady but never hectic. With the cybernetic system PATA MAGMA, another place of musical encounter has now been created. The improvising orchestra of the Multiphonics Festival draws the music out of itself and offers a wide spectrum of artistic encounters thanks to its diverse grouping possibilities. Like sonic magma, the ensemble allows Stein's "improvisations" to rise to the surface. PATA SIGNS is a fanfold of seven graphic modules, created for a festival of expressive communication.
