Vly, the second album by Cologne funk band Radius, will be released on March 21, 2025 on their own label "Radius Records Cologne". The seven-piece formation impresses with its distinctive sound, which combines precise brass sections, driving keyboard sounds and bluesy guitar riffs. Coupled with groovy basslines and a proper backbeat, there's not a dry eye in the house.
For their latest work, Radius have teamed up with a number of guest singers: Leonora, a young up-and-coming German-Italian who recently shone at the Eurovision preliminary round, as well as Lewin Blümel, Lenny Pojarov and Marion Lenfant-Preus, who add another facet to the album with their unique voices.
Radius, who have made a name for themselves in the scene by supporting Gregory Porter and performing at festivals and clubs, remain true to their powerful, funky style. The band unites musicians who have already worked with various prominent artists and formations such as the WDR Big Band, Klinke Supreme (TV Total), Jeff Cascaro, Die Fantastischen Vier and Nina Chuba.
With influences from greats such as Stevie Wonder, Vulfpeck, Tower of Power and Herbie Hancock, Vly creates an energetic atmosphere that immediately captivates the audience. An album for all those who have the groove in their blood!
