In the organizer's words:
RANDY HANSEN (Seattle, USA)
For three decades now, guitarist and singer Randy Hansen has built a reputation as one of the world’s best Hendrix tribute artists.
Over the years, he has released countless albums featuring both outstanding Hendrix jams and songs as well as his own authentic, Hendrix-inspired riffing.
In a sea of Hendrix-inspired guitarists, Randy Hansen stands out and is one of the few guitarists officially recognized by the Hendrix family.
Having toured and performed with the likes of Uli Jon Roth, Jack Bruce, Paul Rodgers, Mitch Mitchell, and Buddy Miles, among others, Hansen pays true homage to the “Father of Heavy Guitar” (Jimi) and, with his unbridled passion, creates soundscapes infused with the spirit of Jimi Hendrix.
Randy Hansen is a consummate performer with incredible depth who captivates fans with his explosive show. Through years of hard work and tireless refinement of “his craft,” he has earned a reputation as a world-class guitar hero.
Hansen was hired by acclaimed film director Francis Ford Coppola to contribute to the soundtrack of “Apocalypse Now,” the 1980 Oscar winner for Best Sound. The film led to a record deal with Capitol Records.
Today, Hansen tours worldwide, driven by the continued demand from fans in America and Europe. Whether with the Randy Hansen Band or in collaboration with other entertainers such as Steve Miller, Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Company, The Firm, Queen), Buddy Miles, Don Wilson (The Ventures), Alan White (YES, John Lennon), Sammy Hagar, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray, Roger Fisher (Heart), Bob Segar, and Hendrix alumni Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell—to name just a few of the artists with whom he has collaborated.
