Rassismus im Werk Kants?
In the organizer's words:
The Black Lives Matter protests and the accompanying toppling of monuments have also forced philosophy to critically reflect on its canon with regard to racist ideas. Immanuel Kant's work was a particular focus here. The lecture explores the following questions: Which passages were discussed? What status do they have in Kant's work? How can a public debate about racism in Kant's work be conducted productively? What constitutes an open and self-critical discussion? And what role does this debate with the philosophical canon play for our political and social self-understanding?
