Political scientist Isabella Hermann presents a surprising counter-movement: anti-dystopias that allow something new to emerge from the rubble of the old order. In her latest book, *A Future Without Fear: How Anti-Dystopias Open Up New Perspectives*, she hits the political nail on the head. While the discourse on catastrophe plunges us into a kind of collective paralysis, anti-dystopias experiment with practical solutions. Their protagonists do not wait for rescue from above.
