The social scientist and musician Martin C. Wolfstein pays tribute to an almost forgotten musical instrument after years of extensive research and study. The film tells the story of the Argentine tango instrument, the bandoneón, in a detailed and multifaceted way. What is this instrument with such an eventful history, with this unique, sensual, melancholy sound that sometimes imitates the human voice and can poetically reflect people's moods? The journey begins in Germany with men who dug for ore - and for whom the "miner's piano" was very popular. However, the harmonica instrument became popular worldwide with the Argentine bandoneonistas. In 2008, the bandoneón was awarded the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site "Tango Argentino" as a style-forming instrument alongside dance and music.
