Peace is hard when you only know war. Vicky and Yulieth know nothing but FARC rebel life. Until the guns are laid down after 50 years of fighting in Colombia, following a bloody civil war between the left-wing guerrilla group FARC, the Colombian government, right-wing paramilitaries and drug cartels that left 220,000 dead. A model peace project begins in 2016. Markus Lenz accompanies Vicky and Yulieth for five years on their path to a new life, with all the pain and trauma of their past and the difficulties of integrating into civilian freedom. PROVISORIUM goes through dense jungle in combat gear to the labyrinthine barrios of overpopulated metropolises and is a journey into the inner workings of the FARC, an inventory of Colombian peace, an examination of the complex Colombian conflict - with the core idea of making the hope for peace visible.
