Reminiscence in the second act: Ingeborg Bachmann
Ingeborg Bachmann is one of the most important German-language writers of the 20th century. Hardly any other author has managed to shape contemporary literature so much with her work. It is no coincidence that one of the biggest literary prizes is named after her. Her style was unwieldy and oracular, her life tragic and sad.
It is therefore no surprise that a movie about her life will be released in 2023 and that many of her works are constantly being reissued. At a recent event, the young poet Nail Doğan said that hardly anyone could write about love as beautifully and honestly as Ingeborg Bachmann. He, son of migrant workers and winner of the Open Mike 2020, will show why Bachmann's literature is accessible to everyone.

Reminiscence in three acts
Reminiscence, that is memory, that is homage, that is when you remember another book while reading a work. This enthusiastic rediscovery or reminiscence brings the works of deceased authors back to life. This is what the "Reminiscences in three acts" series is all about: Authors, biographers and translators will show the extent to which works from different centuries still resonate today.
