Rheinische Hofladentour – Mit dem Rad von Hof zu Hof

The Cologne Bay and the Bördeland landscape to the west of Cologne is one of the most fertile regions in Germany. Everything your heart desires grows and thrives here, from wheat, rye and rapeseed to sugar beet, potatoes, apples and strawberries. Many farms offer their produce in their own farm stores. The varied offerings of the direct marketers in the north of the Rhine-Erft adventure region are strung together like a string of pearls: As if painted for a cycle tour that takes us from the Cologne area to the various farms around Frechen and Pulheim. With such a wide range of local produce on offer, you'll soon be wishing you had a trailer for your bike...

But it's not just the physical well-being that is catered for on this tour, cultural highlights such as Brauweiler Abbey also line our route. Far-reaching views from the Glessener Höhe round off the landscape experience. At the end of the tour, we take full saddlebags and new perspectives with us on the way home.

• Meeting point: Weiden West S-Bahn station, (address: Bonnstraße, 50859 Cologne), at the bicycle parking facility at the terminus of tram line 1 (plenty of parking spaces available)
• How to get there: By public transport and bicycle: The nearest KVB stop is "Weiden-West" (line 1). Weiden-West is also a stop on the S-Bahn lines S 12, 13 and 19 (all accessible from Cologne main station).
