Risographie-Workshop I – Poster-Druck

Lutz Ring from Studio fluopink is our guest with Caroline Haberkorn, Friederike Specht and his Risograph, or "Riso" for short.

In this workshop, analog poster prints will be created using bright, sustainable colors and matte uncoated paper.

What is risography?

The Risograph is a Japanese stencil printing machine that produces particularly beautiful printed matter using ecological consumables, without chemicals and with low energy consumption. The inks are made from rice bran oil and the stencils are made from hemp fibers.

The printing process is similar to screen printing. The semi-transparent colors are printed layer by layer in individual passes. The color is applied to the paper through a digitally produced stencil - the master.

The charm of risography lies in the bright printing colors and the sympathetic waywardness of the machine, which makes each print unique due to inaccuracies and other small errors.
