In the organizer's words:
The Augustenstrasse festival on the longest day of the year
Every year, the Fête de la Musique, celebrated in all French cities and many (small) towns, manages to lure the population outside to celebrate the longest day of the year together with live music. In the style of this Fête de la Musique, we celebrate the Rue de la Musique on Augustenstrasse on the summer solstice: from 2 - 10 p.m., small, fine concerts that bring the quarter to life and bring the neighborhood together.
The section of road between Reuchlinstrasse and Hasenbergstrasse (the "Merlin section") will be open to pedestrians and closed to bicycle/car traffic. There will be 150 deckchairs around the Merlin, a stage, information stands from the project partners and lots of street crayons and bubbles for children.
The Feierabendkollektiv will once again be our partner in 2026, and we are delighted to be joined by the EUNIC Cluster Stuttgart: the Italian Cultural Institute Stuttgart, the Liszt Institute | Hungarian Cultural Centre Stuttgart, the Institut Français Stuttgart, the IFA - Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations, which will be taking part in the program with their own bands, thus placing a special emphasis on the cultural diversity of Stuttgart's cosmopolitan urban society.
