Rund um Bjäre
In the organizer's words:
Beach meadows, scree fields, and cliffs rising steeply from the water characterize the Bjäre coast in southern Sweden. The peninsula is a paradise for nature lovers and those interested in early human history.
On a multi-day fall hike, Björn Langer experienced the flora and fauna of the southern Kattegat, passing through small fishing villages and millennia-old burial sites. One excursion took him to the island of Hallands Väderö, with side trips inland through deeply carved gorges and across marshlands.
In his lecture “Around Bjäre—A Coastal Hike in Southern Sweden,” he recounts encounters with seals, cows against a seascape, mysterious burial mounds, and legendary discoveries of human remains.
